The Laser Treatment So Good That It Has A Halo!
- Posted on: Jan 15 2019
Do you believe in guardian angels?
There are some cosmetic treatments out there that really do deliver results that seem almost too good to be true. CoolSculptingis a perfect example of this. Imagine dropping inches off your waist, all because someone held a cooling pad to your skin. It’s like a miracle from some kind of cosmetic guardian angel!
Well, here’s another miracle: there is a new laser skin treatment in town that can deliver astonishing results with little discomfort and minimal turnaround time. Based on the feedback we’ve been getting on it, I think we can safely add another cosmetic guardian angel to the list of procedures at Azul. And this procedure even comes with its own Halo! It’s Halo Laser Treatment!
What Makes Halo Laser Treatment Different?
We offer a number of laser skin treatments here at Azul, including our surgical CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacingand Fraxel Laser Skin Rejuvenation. So, why did we add yet another laser treatment? Because Halo is a huge step forward with the technology, delivering the best of both ablative and non-ablative laser skin treatments.
Ablative skin treatments are considered to be cosmetic surgery because of how invasive are. We will literally vaporize the top layer of your skin with a laser. This will get rid of skin impurities, reduce scarring, minimize wrinkles and improve the tightness and texture of your skin, but can also be uncomfortable, as we are removing a layer of skin. It can also have quite a lengthy recovery period, as your body needs to heal and replace the damaged skin cells. That said, it’s also one of the most effective ways to rejuvenate the skin.
On the other hand, non-ablative lasers bypass the top layer of the skin entirely. Here, the non-ablative laser is used to heat and “injure” the tissue under the skin to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. This causes the body to generate new collagen and elastin that will smooth and tighten the skin above, while also minimizing wrinkles, stretch marks, scars and even active acne.
Halo is a Hybrid Fractional Laser, utilizing both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths into the same treatment. This combines the strengths of both kinds of lasers while also minimizing their flaws. It uses a fractional treatment to only target a fraction of the skin. Rather than removing the entire top layer of skin, the ablative wavelength of the Halo laser is used to make hundreds of tiny microchannels in your skin to exact depths. The non-ablative wavelengths also reach the deeper layers of the skin to supercharge collagen and elastin production. It’s the best of both worlds! The top layer of your skin is getting intentionally damaged in a way that will stimulate new cell growth while the lower layer is getting heated up to restore collagen. Win-win!
Is it Uncomfortable?
Some cosmetic procedures can be uncomfortable. In the case of laser treatments, the real heavy ones need to be done in the operating room where we can sedate patients for comfort, other procedures heat the deeper tissue which also needs some pain control (like Pronox)So, what would you say if we told you that Halo is one of the most comfortable treatments that we offer at Azul?
When rated on a pain scale of 1 to 10, patients usually give Halo about a 2 or 3. One of the ways it does this is by continually blowing cold air on your skin during treatment. While the laser is heating your skin, the cold air will be cooling it. This makes for a very comfortable treatment. In fact, you might even think it feels a bit chilly! Simply put, the procedure shouldn’t hurt. You might experience some stinging, but that’s about it.
Recovery Time
Unlike with ablative laser treatments, Halo has a very short recovery period associated with it. After treatment, it may look like you have a reasonably bad sunburn. These symptoms can be managed precisely as you would a sunburn, with moisturizers and gentle washes, and sunscreen to prevent further damage. You should be able to resume your daily activities and apply makeup after 24 hours.
Over the next two weeks, you can expect some skin peeling and darkening as your body heals the damaged tissue. But soon after, you will notice your younger, tighter skin with a better texture and fewer impurities.
What Else Is Involved?
Halo is often combined with another treatment at Azul that can help eliminate any redness or dark discoloration on your skin: Broad Band Light therapy. This is essentially a refinement of IPL therapy, something that many of our regular patients have used in the past! BBL therapy is another exciting new advancement in cosmetic skincare, and one that you will be hearing more about in the near future!
Ever since we launched Halo Laser Treatmenta few months ago, the response has been overwhelming. Our patients have been blown away by their results, and they aren’t the only ones. We knew this was a terrific procedure, and seeing our happy patients only confirms this! Of course, Halo Laser Treatment is only one of the non-surgical cosmetic proceduresthat we offer at Azul. We can also offer you many surgical cosmetic solutions, as well as skincare at our Medical Spa.
