Get a Subtle Non-Surgical Brow Lift with the Silhouette InstaLift™
- Posted on: Nov 16 2018
The thing about Hollywood celebrities and cosmetic surgery is that, if they are really, really famous, they may not be able to afford the downtime. There are movies to shoot, premieres to attend, talk shows to go on. Taking a few weeks off to recover from major surgery often isn’t an option (unless they require a more extensive surgical rejuvenation). And that’s where non-surgical procedures come in.
Most non-surgical procedures have minimal downtime associated with them because they aren’t invasive. There are no incisions to make and, therefore, your body doesn’t need as long to recover. That’s why BOTOX and dermal fillers are so popular. A celebrity can be in and out of a clinic in just an hour, walking away looking fabulous (if maybe slightly redder than usual).
One of the newest non-surgical procedures is the Silhouette InstaLift. This is a non-surgical, minimally-invasive facelift technique that can also be used to provide a subtle brow lift. It’s been rapidly gaining popularity in celebrity circles because of its subtle-but-noticeable results and non-existent downtime.
Silhouette InstaLift
So, what exactly is a Silhouette InstaLift? Simply put, it’s one of the newest and procedures that we offer here at Azul. We’ve only been doing it for a few months and already its popularity has gone through the roof.
Picture pulling a needle and thread through a piece of fabric. The Silhouette InstaLift is quite similar. Instead of a thread, we use a bio-absorbable suspension suture with bi-directional cones along it. We pull the suture through the tissue just below the skin layer to lift and reposition it while the bi-directional cones hold the tissue in place. Once we are finished, the sutures have lifted your facial tissue and the cones will have anchored it.
If you’re concerned about having these sutures and cones under your skin permanently, don’t worry. Both are made from the bio-absorbable materials glycolide and L-lactide. Not only that, these materials also stimulate fibroblasts to induce collagen production under the skin. As the sutures and cones are absorbed, your own collagen takes the place of the cones, maintaining the lift even after the sutures are long gone. This gives you incredibly natural-looking results, instantly!
A Facelift? I Thought We Were Talking About Brow Lifts?
Although the Silhouette InstaLift was created with facelifts in mind, the technique perfectly lends itself to brow lifts as well.
We only need to use one suture on each side to give you a subtle, but visible, brow lift. During your consultation we evaluate you to be sure the skin of your forehead is thick enough to ensure the sutures and cones will not show through the skin. If you are thinking about getting a Silhouette InstaLift and seeing Dr. Flaharty, be sure to mention this. With his experienced eye, he will be able to tell right away if using InstaLift for a brow lift is the right choice for you.
How Long Does It Last?
One of the biggest complaints about non-surgical cosmetic procedures is their shorter shelf life. Unlike the long-lasting results you get with cosmetic surgery, non-surgical results fade over time, sometimes as quickly as just a few months.
An excellent example of this is Botox, which is amazingly effective at relaxing the tiny twitch muscles around your eyes and forehead so the wrinkles above fade away. As your body heals the “damage” caused by the Botox, those muscles start to strengthen and the lines come back. It isn’t usually a big deal, you just have to come back into Azul every few months for a refresh, but it would be nice not to have to think about it at all.
With the Silhouette InstaLift, you don’t really have to. One of the most incredible things about the procedure is how long the results last, especially for a non-surgical treatment. You can count on your results lasting up to two years, give or take a few months.
Recovery Time?
Like most non-surgical procedures, Silhouette InstaLift has a short recovery time associated with it, nowhere near those associated with cosmetic surgery. Although the procedure doesn’t require any downtime, you may feel some soreness and swelling in the treated area for about a week. Just be careful while washing your face, and try not to rub too much, and you’ll be fine!
Surgical Alternatives
Although Silhouette InstaLift can deliver fantastic results, it really depends on the level of laxity in your face and brow. If you are only experiencing mild facial laxity, then this non-surgical treatment could be perfect for you. If you are experiencing more laxity and a heavily drooping brow, then you might need to opt for a surgical face and neck lift, along with an endoscopic brow lift, to get the results you want. With Dr. Flaharty’s endoscopic brow lift, you can count on there being hidden incisions and no stretched-looking skin.
The Silhouette InstaLift is perfect for those who are looking for a mild lift in their face and brow but aren’t ready for surgery. This is just one of the non-surgical cosmetic procedures we offer here at Azul, along with cosmetic surgical procedures and advanced skincare treatments in our Medical Spa.
