Summertime May Be The Right Time for Plastic Surgery
- Posted on: Jun 30 2021
Historically, summertime is the time of year when people feel more relaxed. The bustling school year has come to an end and they are freer to be out and about, maybe even taking some days off work here and there. The tone of summer sets the stage for many people to have the plastic surgery they’ve been considering for months. If you’ve been postponing that consultation with a plastic surgeon, now may be your ideal time to hop on the phone and schedule a visit to one of our friendly offices. Here, we’ll discuss some of the cosmetic procedures that are great for those thinking of a summer staycation.
Eyelid Rejuvenation
You may have heard that the skin around the eyes is the first to show the signs of aging. If you haven’t heard this bit of information, you may have noticed it for yourself when you look in the mirror. The tissue around the eyes is delicate and so does thin and weaken relatively quickly when collagen loss begins. Eyelid rejuvenation, known as blepharoplasty, can be performed on the upper or lower eyelids. This technique is one of the most impactful procedures performed. People often consider how a facelift can refresh their appearance but, truth be told, we see patients look about 10 years younger after blepharoplasty removes heaviness, sagging, or puffiness.
Brow Lift
The endoscopic brow lift is a relatively conservative procedure that also rejuvenates the eye area. For this reason, many patients combine a brow lift with blepharoplasty to achieve more profound results. The brow lift, or forehead lift, is performed through multiple tiny incisions and special instruments. It involves reshaping the brow, erasing horizontal lines or frown lines, and raising sagging skin to give the face a more rested, refreshed appearance.
Face and Neck Lift
Facelift surgery has remained popular even after injectables and other nonsurgical treatments were developed. This procedure focuses on the lower regions of the face. Dr. Flaharty refines the contours of the cheeks and jawline through incisions hidden in the natural creases around the ears. During the procedure, the facial and neck muscles are tightened, fat pads can be repositioned for more mid face volume, and loose skin is trimmed to look naturally tighter and firmer.
Summertime Surgery
If you’re thinking this summer is a good season for a staycation, you may be a great candidate for summertime surgery. The procedures mentioned here usually incur a recovery period of just 1 to 2 weeks, after which you can return to your normal routine looking and feeling completely refreshed.
