Start Summer Off Right With a Brow Lift!
- Posted on: Jul 5 2023
Throughout the year, you find yourself going at a faster pace without much time to rest. But summer is different—the days are often slower, and you tend to spend a lot of time outdoors. These are the days when you feel like taking a long vacation, just to kick back and relax, but a staycation may be just what you need.
Besides putting your feet up and relaxing, you can also do something that’s good for your body and soul. For instance, there is nothing more refreshing than improving your look, and a brow lift can significantly rebuild your confidence. Let’s see what brow lifts can do for you and why you should start your summer off with one.
What Is a Brow Lift?
A brow lift is a procedure that corrects sagging eyebrows, making you look more wide-eyed and awake. As it pulls your skin upward, a brow lift can also reduce wrinkles, especially the ones around your forehead and eyes.
Brow lifts are recommended when your body starts producing less collagen as you age. With this decrease in support, your skin may become saggy, making you look older than you actually are. A brow lift will use surgical or non-surgical procedures to either remove the excess skin or replenish the lost collagen.
Why Get a Brow Lift?
There are several reasons why you should consider a brow lift, the main one being the fact that it makes you look younger. Thanks to this procedure, your face will have a tighter and rejuvenated appearance, resulting in a more rested look. Another benefit is that a brow lift can also soften wrinkles on the upper area of your face.
This procedure is also helpful when your eyelid area is covered by excess skin, and you have what is called a hooded eye. As the brow lift pulls the skin higher, the excess skin will no longer be hanging over your eyelids.
Types of Brow Lifts
At Azul® Cosmetic Surgery & Medical Spa, we offer the endoscopic brow lift; however, there are various types of brow lift surgeries, including:
-
Coronal Brow Lift
If you have the time for a longer staycation that allows you to relax for a few days, a coronal brow lift can be very efficient in improving the shape of your face. An incision is made from ear to ear (think about the shape of headphones), and the forehead skin is lifted carefully, removing excess underlying tissue and altering the muscles. This technique creates a smoother, more youthful appearance.
-
Endoscopic Brow Lift
This is the brow lift option we offer at Azul® Cosmetic Surgery & Medical Spa, and it is a favorite because it only requires a few incisions. We will create four small incisions in the hairline and insert an endoscope, allowing it to release the brow and lift the forehead. This is a great option if you only have a free weekend, and can’t extend your staycation.
-
Temporal Brow Lift
Unlike the coronal brow lift, this one is less invasive and only creates incisions on the lateral parts of your head. This way, rather than lifting the entire eyebrow, it lifts only one-third of it. This type of brow lift is generally a better option if you don’t have forehead wrinkles but want to obtain a sharper and lifted effect.
What to Expect from Brow Lift Recovery?
Brow lift surgery may take different times to recover, depending on the type of procedure you have opted for. For a coronal brow lift, you may want to take it easy for the next two weeks. On the other hand, an endoscopic or temporal brow lift should heal within one week or so.
Any mild-discomfort or pain can be easily managed with over-the-counter medication, so you should be able to return to your regularly scheduled routine within a week. However, if you can, you should take this opportunity to rest, relax and recover.
