HALO Laser Treatment
What is Halo?

Halo is truly break-through new technology in the world of laser skin treatment. It hits the sweet-spot patients want for significant improvement in skin tone, texture, reduction of fine lines and pore size – all with almost no downtime and minimal discomfort. Halo is also well-known for its amazing results on acne scars, reducing pitting and redness where other treatments have failed. So, these are some pretty big statements. How about some detail to back them up?
How does Halo work?
We are so proud to offer Halo™ by Sciton, the world’s first and only Hybrid Fractional Laser delivering both non-ablative and ablative wavelengths to the same microscopic treatment zone. Combining these two wavelengths creates a synergistic effect that gives you ablative results with non-ablative down-time.
This break-through device uses hybrid technology to create controlled areas of coagulation at targeted depths in the dermis to stimulate new collagen. At the same time, it vaporizes microchannels in the epidermis to improve skin tone and texture.
Smart technology allows us to precisely define treatment depth and energy intensity. Feedback from Halo measures energy delivery and reports on progress to the treatment plan, ensuring you receive the full treatment desired to meet your treatment and recovery goals. This flexibility allows you and our clinicians to plan for fewer more significant treatments, or a greater number of lighter treatments – you choose the path to your gorgeous skin.

Halo Treatment
Halo is like no other laser treatment. Remember the 1-10 discomfort scale? Most patients say Halo is about a 2 or 3. And the post-care is a breeze. Your appointment will be about one hour, and we’ll start with BBL which takes about 15-20 minutes. Then we apply a topical numbing cream and let that numb your skin for about 20 minutes.
After your skin is numb, the Halo is used to map your tissue for depth, the treatment plan is entered into the system and your treatment begins. It feels a bit like ice crystals blowing on your face, a bit tingly, a bit of a sting, but not painful. Halo has a built-in cooling device that blows cold air through the laser handpiece, so your skin surface is always being cooled during the treatment.
Halo Laser Treatment Before & After

What to Expect After Halo Laser Treatment
After treatment, the heat in your treated skin will become noticeable for about 40minutes, then it will dissipate and you will be left looking a bit pink. Most people look like they have a mild sunburn. Post-care consists of gentle washes, gentle moisturizer, and sunscreen. Make-up can be worn after 24 hours. The treated “micro-dots” of skin will darken a bit and slough off over the next 5-7 days leaving newer, brighter, younger skin. Sun protection is recommended for at least the next two weeks – we recommend perpetual sun protection to care for your skin and your investment!
Many patients remain socially active throughout the healing process if a lighter treatment is selected. For more intense treatments, 1-2 days are all that’s usually needed before resuming normal social activities.
HALO PATIENT TESTIMONIAL
Halo Laser Treatment Results
You can expect to love your skin! In fact, Halo has an 88% Worth It rating on RealSelf – one of the highest ratings for a non-surgical service.
Halo treats a portion of the skin, so you’ll need more than one to start. We follow Halo by Sciton’s researched recommendation of starting with two sessions one month apart with a BBL (Broad Band Light) and Halo treatment at each session.
- BBL (Broad Band Light): Very bright light emitted through a crystal at different wavelengths used to target and destroy brown and red spots. Proven to stimulate cell turn-over when performed routinely over many years.
Because you are essentially receiving four different therapies in one treatment session, you can expect to see a series of results over time:
- Darkening and sloughing of brown spots over the next 7-10 days.
- Decreased appearance of red areas and superficial vessels over 7-10 days.
- Improving: skin tone, texture, pore size and a decrease in fine lines and wrinkles over next 2 – 12 weeks.
Halo Treatment Before & After
How Long will Results Last after Halo treatment?
Your results will last for years to come. Your skin will continue to change over time, but the improvements gained from your BBL and Halo treatment are enhancements that cannot be taken away. Each treatment only serves to improve the tone, texture, pore size, wrinkles, and fine lines. We recommend an annual treatment to keep your skin looking its best.
