Restylane®
What is Restylane?
Restylane describes a family of soft tissue fillers, all of which are made with hyaluronic acid. This sugar acid is produced in a lab with characteristics that mimic the organic acid that is formed in the body. No allergy testing is needed to undergo treatment safely and comfortably because hyaluronic acid is naturally-occurring and the lab-made version does not use animal products.
Our Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, and Naples area patients often use Restylane in conjunction with BOTOX Cosmetic or Dysport to enhance and extend the life of their results.
Areas Treated with Restylane
Virtually any part of the face can be treated with a Restylane product. Before treatment, we conduct a full consultation and skin evaluation to determine which Restylane product would be best suited to the desired outcome. Restylane products are routinely used to soften creases of varying depths. These include laugh lines, marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and lines along the tear trough. We can also introduce a Restylane filler into the lips for soft enhancement, and into the cheeks and chin to increase facial contouring.
Who is a candidate for Restylane?
Restylane products can help adults of all ages address mild to moderate lines, creases, and volume loss. Treatment is not appropriate for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding or for patients with active infection in the treatment area.
Types of Restylane
At Azul Cosmetic Surgery & Medical Spa, we offer all types of Restylane to help improve your signs of aging. These products include:

Restylane Lyft: This highly versatile soft tissue filler is often used around the nose and mouth to reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds. Its larger particle size also makes Lyft a good option for restoring volume to the cheek area and reducing hollowness at the temples or lower cheek. This product can also reshape the nose without surgical intervention. Results from treatment are immediately visible and can last up to 12 months.

Restylane Silk: This product was one of the first to be formulated specifically for lip enhancement. Since its approval from the FDA, Restylane Silk has expanded into off-label use as a tear trough and crow’s feet filler. The product is ideal for the lips and other delicate areas because the hyaluronic acid particle sizes are small, lending to an ultra-smooth gel consistency. Results are subtle and can last up to 12 months.

Restylane Refyne & Defyne: These soft tissue fillers are made using XpresHAn Technology, a manufacturing process that gives each product both flexibility and supportive characteristics.
Each is intended for use around the nose and mouth, where movement is vital to facial expression.
The unique formulation of Refyne and Defyne fillers withstands muscle movements and lasts up to 12 months.
Restylane for Hand Rejuvenation
As methods of facial rejuvenation have expanded, the need for hand rejuvenation has also arisen. The hands need to match the face, and now they can. Restylane Lyft is the first hyaluronic acid filler to gain FDA approval for hand rejuvenation. The strategic use of this filler offsets age-related changes such as fat atrophy and progressive thinning of the skin caused by collagen depletion. Results include less visible veins and a softer appearance for up to six months.
How many treatments will I need?
Dermal fillers are fast-acting and usually achieve the desired results within the first treatment. An exception may be the person who is new to dermal fillers and wants to begin with the most conservative dosing and build up from that starting point. As needed, treatments can be repeated as the hyaluronic acid gets absorbed over time.
ASPIRE is a straightforward and simple rewards program that helps you save on the Galderma family of products, which include Dysport and Restylane. For every treatment you receive, you’re rewarded with savings on future visits.
How long does Restylane last?
Every person may metabolize hyaluronic acid differently. On average, results last from six months to a year.
