Radiesse®Restylane®Juvederm®Perlane®
Dermal fillers are non-surgical injectable agents that can be used to treat a variety of facial lines and wrinkles. These products contain all natural substances including hyaluronic acid and/or calcium hydroxylapatite. These fillers can restore a smoother, more youthful, healthy and vital appearance to the facial skin.
Injectable fillers are generally performed in the office setting. A local or topical anesthetic or numbing agent may be used prior to the injection in order to maximize the patient’s comfort. Once the dermis has become numb, a very fine needle is used to inject the filler in small amounts directly beneath the skin. Treatment times for dermal fillers may last anywhere from fifteen to forty minutes.
The recovery after treatment with dermal fillers is generally minimal and quick. As with any injectable, some mild discomfort, swelling, bruising or redness may occur at the injection site. These side effects are generally quick to resolve. Normal activities and work can be resumed immediately following treatment. The results of Restylane®, Perlane and Juvederm are practically immediate and last an average of six months. With Radiesse®, patients will notice an initial plumping of the skin within the first three months of treatment and this will be followed by additional correction for twelve to twenty-four months as the filler stimulates the production of new tissue.
